The game developers would have been delighted to see a record number of players flock to their online mode when the diamond casino and resort first opened in july last year, not to mention how many returned to steal it following the introduction of a special heist for the gambling venue.
With weekly content updates, GTA online players have even been given the opportunity to pick up diamonds in the rewards too, making it a highly lucrative opportunity for members of the community. However, after completing all of the steps to get to the final mission, some have found a bug in the actual heist that's stopping them from escaping with the loot.
Rockstar games GTA online players can make serious cash in the casino, but not when bugs are spoiling things.
The heist is broken up into different parts, which includes a few different routes to enter the vault where money, diamonds, and gold bars can be found. Some ways of getting inside are easier than others, although they all take time.
With that said, some are getting inside the vault, hacking their way into rooms to collect their takings, only to find that the door has slammed shut behind them. Clearly, this means that they are then unable to exit and ultimately die to the security system gas once the timer runs out.
This issue can be seen in a reddit post from 'itsnotvortex,' below. They asked: "anyone else had this glitch?" and a fair few responded, claiming to have experienced the same thing as well.
One user responded by claiming when this layout of loot appears, one cart room is usually bugged, while another stated that they had seen the bug only when completing the heist using an aggressive approach. Another joked that the casino might have stepped up their security efforts, but that's obviously not true.
Whether or not many players have been impacted by this problem is unclear, although it is clear that a handful – at least – have been left frustrated by it. After all, checking off all of those setup tasks and then not being able to complete the heist at the end isn't ideal. The heist itself could be worth up to $2,115,000, and even higher when diamonds are included in the loot.
Players will be hoping that rockstar rolls out a hotfix for the problem soon, hopefully before these diamonds leave the game.
Diamond casino heist - silent & sneaky approach - full setup & execution guide
Besides the aggressive and big con approaches, you can also carry out the casino heist with a 'sneaky & silent' approach. This guide will help you prepare for this approach, showing you all the crew members that you need to hire, the prep missions that are necessary and the heist finale walkthrough itself.
Heist prep missions
We will take a look at all the prep missions that you need to do for this approach, besides the mandatory prep missions. Though you can do these prep missions solo in either public or invite only session, it is highly recommended that you have at least one friend with you, as it will make your life a whole lot easier.

Support crew
Gunman
When you are choosing a gunman, there's no need to spend any time deciding which one to choose as this heist is the silent and sneaky approach! You shouldn't expect a lot of altercations and combat situations. Therefore, we recommend you choose KARL ABOLAJI who takes only 5% from the final cut. When you are choosing the weapon loadout, we recommend the machine pistol loadout. It is the best of the two loadouts offered by karl abolaji for this approach.
Driver
For a getaway driver, if it was up to us, we would not hire any driver at all - but it's mandatory that we do. The sole reason for that is the fact that we will not use the getaway cars at all and take our own route after we come out of the casino. You can get the pedestrian car and easily escape through sewer tunnels. However, the cars sometimes spawn in the parking lot which is right next to the sewer tunnel entrance if you're lucky.
Either way, you can choose KARIM DENZ for the cars. He only takes 5% from the final cut. When you choose the getaway vehicles, it is best to choose the SULTAN CLASSIC. Just remember we will not be using these vehicles unless they are spawned in the parking lot near the sewer tunnel entrance.
Hacker
Choosing the hacker is the most important aspect in all the approaches for the casino heist, whether it's sneaking in or going in aggressive. We recommend that you choose the best hacker available for you. The best avaialble default hacker is PAIGE HARRIS who takes 9% from the final cut, but its worth it since she gets you 3 minutes and 15 seconds in the vault.
An even better hacker is AVI SCHWARTZMAN who you can unlock by completing a side quest. You need to find 50 signal jammers spread around los santos and destroy them for avi to be unlocked. Check out our guide here on where to find all the jammers and unlock avi. Avi gives you 15 seconds more than paige, granting a total of 3 minutes and 30 seconds in the vault. Avi takes 1% more than paige from the final cut, so 10%.
Hacking device
When you on the hacking device mission expect two different locations where it can be located. The first one requires you to get it from the N.O.O.S.E headquarters, while the second will be in the FIB building.
N.O.O.S.E headquarters mission
For the N.O.O.S.E headquarters mission you need to go to a specific location, find the corrupt agent, take him out and take the keycard to the N.O.O.S.E headquarters. After that, go to the headquarters, sneak into the building and find the hacking device using your phone. It is pretty simple, just avoid the sight of the guards and walk silently and you should be good to go.
If it is in the N.O.O.S.E headquarters, then you need to go davis city hall, locate the corrupt agent, take him out and get the keycard to the N.O.O.S.E headquarters. Head to the N.O.O.S.E headquarters and sneak into the building to find the hacking device. When you reach the headquarters, we recommend you park your vehicle right outside the entrance since as soon as you leave the building, you will have cops on you and will require a quick getaway vehicle.
You need to find the hacking device using your phone, based on the signal strength at the bottom right screen. The closer you get to the device, the stronger the signal gets. It is pretty simple, just avoid the sight of the guards and walk silently and you should be good to go. You can use suppressed weapons to take out guards and security cameras provided that other guards don't see you doing so or find the body of a guard you take out.
FIB building mission
Before heading to the FIB building, you will need to take out some agents and get the FIB agent pass in order to enter the building by impersonating an agent. You will be asked to go to a specific location and kill the agents, get the FIB pass, lose the cops and after that, head to FIB building. Make sure that, just like for the N.O.O.S.E headquarters, you park your car right in front of the entrance as you will need to quickly get away from the building. Cops will be on you right away.
Enter the building and avoid the cones of vision as much as possible, since staying in them for too long will cause the guards and agents to recognize you. Take the elevator to the upper floor, bring your phone out and find the hacking device using the signal strength bar, the same way you did when in N.O.O.S.E headquarters.
Once you have acquired the hacking device, head back outside the same way you came in from. But note that as soon as you reach the exit, the agents will recognize you and start shooting, so make sure you have some snacks and armor. Quickly exit the building and get into your vehicle which you parked right in front of the entrance earlier, lose the cops and deliver the hacking device back to the arcade.
General prep work
For the general prep missions, you obviously need to do the vault keycards prep mission, which is mandatory, followed by the patrol routes prep mission. You do not have to do the duggan shipments, power drill and security intel prep missions. You also do not need to get the masks.
Vault keycards
There can be two types of mission to acquire the vault keycards. One requires you to hijack a prison bus and get the keycard from one of the guards while you impersonate a prison guard. The second mission is fairly simple, you just need to go to two security guards situated at two different locations, kill them and get the cards. One guard will be drunk on the street while the other will be having "a good time" in a motel room. Just make sure that when you are taking them out, you use a suppressed weapon or kill them using a melee weapon to avoid cops.
There are two possible missions that can be given to you to acquire the vault keycards. In one of the missions, you need to hijack a prison bus and head to the prison impersonating a prison guard. While inside, you go to one of the towers, take out the guard situated at one of the towers silently and acquire the vault keycards. The second mission requires you to simply go to two different locations, take the guards out and take the vault keycards. One guard will be drunk on the street while the other will beв in a motel room. Just make sure that when you are taking them out, you use a suppressed weapon or kill them using a melee weapon to avoid cops.
Getting the vault keycards from prison is the easiest prep mission. All you need to do is hijack a prisoner bus, head to the prison disguised as a guard and infiltrate one of the towers in the prison. Once you head inside the marked tower, you will come across a guard, just take out the guard silently and search his body for the keycards. After you've acquired the keycards, you can leave the prison the same way you came in, using the bus, and you are done.
You can also go to the prison without hijacking the prison bus, which makes it ten times faster but is also ten times dangerous. Since you won't have a prison guard disguise, as soon as you enter the prison premises, you will get wanted level and the prison guards are alerted. You can still take out the guard at the tower but you need to be super quick about it since the snipers situated at the prison are extremely strong and will destroy you, sometimes even one-shotting you. If you have an oppressor mark II, it will make doing this method a tadв bit easier. However, the snipers are still very strong and can destroy you either way. We do not recommend this method unless you're confident you can do it.
Patrol routes
Patrol routes is an optional general prep mission, but we consider it to be one of the most important prep missions for silent and sneaky approach. This general prep work is also necessary for the big con approach. If you complete this mission you will be able to see the enemies or guards on your minimap during the heist. If you don't do it, then the guards will not be visible on your map. It is absolutely necessary that you complete it so you can easily see where the guards are.
In this mission you need to find a specific car and take a photo of the contents of the trunk. The mission location is always different, but the cars are always the same, so you can never mistake the car for any other once you've identified it. There are two possible cars you can get - it can either be a gray colored car or a black colored car. You can either sneak your way to the car or just kill all the guards and approach the vehicle - it is completely up to you. Just make sure when you are going in killing everyone, not to accidentally blow up the target car.
You can see for this particular location, there is a black car (circled in green) right next to the gray car (circled in red). So when you arrive at this location it can be either one of these. This is applicable for other locations as well. You will always get either a gray colored car or a black colored car. The best part is that the model of these cars will be the exact same in all the locations, so once you've identified the car you'll know exactly what you're looking for during your next run.
Security pass
You need to acquire a level 2 security pass or else you won't be able to do the mission properly. It'll basically impossible to do the heist silently if you do not have level 2 security pass. The security pass mission is also one of the most essential optional missions. If you want to do everything the proper way, then you might as well consider acquiring a level 2 security pass as a mandatory mission.
There are two different types of missions you can be given. One requires you to go to a pool party and get the card from the croupier. The other requires you to get it off of a dead valet's body while you impersonate a coroner officer.
Croupier / party method
For the first type of mission you will be instructed to go to a pool party. Once you reach the party, a suspicion bar, at the bottom right corner of your screen, will become visible. It will gradually increase if you become more noticeable and attract attention, however, you need to blend in and make sure it doesn't rise. You can do different activities such as drinking and dancing to keep the suspicion bar low. Once lester has identified the target you need to find and search for the keycard on them. They will be passed out and once you search for the keycard you'll discover it's not actually on them. However, it should be laying around somewhere in the area. You need to search for the keycard around the area.
TIP: your suspicion will still increase slightly, but the best way to keep it low is to go to your interaction menu and set your action to dance, and turn it on permanently. This way you can walk around and search for the card while making sure the suspicion bar is not increasing.
Coroner method
If you get a coroner mission, then you will need to go to the church and steal a hearse. Once you do so the cops will instantly be on you. Once you lose them, head to the coroner's office. You will automatically equip the coroner officer's clothes. Enter the office and proceed to the morgue. Avoid the cops' cones of visions inside the office as much as you can. Once you reach the morgue, search the valet's body and get the keycard. Just ensure that no one is watching you while you do so. After that head back the same way you came in, while avoiding the cops. Leave the area to successfully complete the prep mission.
Approach specific preps
Nano drone
This prep mission is a mandatory silent and sneaky approach specific prep mission. You need to destroy five LSPD deployed drones. After you destroy the drones, you need to collect their scraps and bring them back to the arcade so lester can create a nano drone for you. It is recommended that you have either an oppressor mark II or a buzzard to carry out this mission. A good thing about this mission is that you can collect the fallen drone scraps whilst you're in your vehicle.
Vault lasers
The vault lasers prep mission is also a mandatory mission. You will need to steal two vault lasers from a specified location. However, the location will be guarded by merryweather and heavy army personnel. So make sure you are prepared to engage in combat and take them all out before finding the lasers at the specified site. It would be easier if you have another friend with you to carry out this mission. However, doing this mission solo is completely possible.
Infiltration suits
Getting sneaky infiltration suits is quite difficult compared to the other prep missions. The infiltration suits will mostly be inside of a police station. The fact that the whole police department will be on to you the second you step into the restricted area of the police station makes it 10x harder to complete. Especially if you are doing this solo.
When you get to the police station, make sure you park you vehicle right outside the entrance so that as soon as you get the outfits, you can instantly hop on your vehicle and get away from the cops. You can go to the nearby sewer tunnels to lose the cops as shown in our video guide. If you have an oppressor mark II, it will make your life much easier as you can just fly away and lose the cops easily.
EMP device
It's debatable whether you need to do this mission and doing so is entirely up to you. Since we use it in our heist finale and it makes the heist much easier, we recommend you do it though, and get the EMP device. You will need to go to los santos international airport and take out some guards protecting a cargobob. You can get a buzzard and head to the airport. Land on any one of the suitable buildings around the cargobob which gives you a good vantage point and snipe out the guards. They will shoot back, so make sure you take cover while doing so.
Once you've killed them all, get into the helicopter and go to the ULSA and pick up the EMP device using the cargobob. Don't worry about the guards there, just focus on getting the EMP with patience. Once you have the EMP fly to the power station. However, as you are on your way to the power station you will get 3 stars wanted level. Just avoid the cones of vision of the cops and they will eventually leave you. Since you're flying, it is relatively easy to lose the cops. After you deliver the device your mission ends.
After you've done all the prep missions you can proceed to the final prep board to choose you entrance and exit point.
Heist finale

On the final prep board you can choose the entry point, exit point, your buyer, clean vehicle and gunman decoy.
Entrance:В choose STAFF LOBBY as your entrance.
Exit:В choose STAFF LOBBY as your exit.
Buyer:В choosing the buyer is completely up to you. However, for better profit, it is recommended that you chose a 'high level' buyer.
Clean vehicle:В you do not need to buy this.
Gunman decoy:В you do not need to buy this.
Heist finale
After all the required prep missions are done you are ready to carry out the heist. You can check out our full video guide too.
When the heist first starts head to the casino and reach the side door on the right side of the building. Before moving towards the door make sure you take out the camera above using your stun gun. Then proceed to unlock the door using the keypad and enter the casino through the staff door.
Once you're inside, you need to take out the metal detector fuse box and then silently take out the guard at the front desk using your suppressed weapon. After that go through the metal detector and to your left you will come across another camera. Take this camera down using your stun gun. Quickly take out two guards to your left who will just be chatting with each other.
Make sure you and your friend are in sync and have already decided who will take which side. For instance, you can take out the left guard and your friend can take out the right one. Just make sure you take the guards out at the same time. Once you've taken out the guards proceed through to the double doors ahead of you.
After you've gone through the double doors, take cover and wait for another guard to come. Wait for him to come close to you and then take him out as well. Follow down the hallway but before continuing, there will be another camera as soon as you enter the hallway where you killed the guard. Take the camera down, but make sure the previous camera is still online since multiple down cameras will cause the alarm to go off.
After taking down the guard and the camera continue down the hallway and take a right, where you will come across a keypad door which will lead to the stairs - however, you won't be able to access it from this side. You will need to go around it. So continue to the next door and use your keypad device to unlock that door. Just make sure the guard has left the room before you do so. After that quickly use the EMP from your phone and enter this room, wait for the guard to come back and take him out with a headshot.
Continue quickly where the guard just came from and go all the way around, passing the elevator and not going into the elevator. Go to the stairway and use your keycard to open the door to the stairway. While going down, make sure you pre-aim because as soon as you take the first turn, a guard will be approaching you. So you need to take him out quickly and silently before he gets the chance to shoot at you and alert the rest of the guards. After taking him down, proceed towards the basement, but as you're going further you will come across another camera, disable it using your stun gun and then proceed.
Once you reach the basement level, go through the doors and note there is no need to bother with the guards to the left. Go right and towards the vault, but be aware that before entering the next door there is another camera right beside the doors. So make sure the camera is facing away from you and then enter the doors. As you pass through the doors you will notice two guards at the desk, take them both out and there will be a camera to your left. Be careful of this camera and take it out as well if you get the chance. Or else just avoid it and head towards the security room keypad door. Open the door, head inside and take out the guard inside. There will only be one guard inside the security room.
Once you're inside make sure you keep an eye out for another guard who will be patrolling right outside the security room where you just came in from. As soon as you see the guard approaching towards your area quickly take cover inside of the security room and wait for the guard to leave. Once he leaves head to the mantrap entrance through the door and use your vault keycards simultaneously to open the mantrap door. Now head towards the vault.
Once you reach the vault use your vault lasers to drill it open. The trick here is to not over-heat your drill. Make sure you press the drilling button but release it in-between. Release the drill button as soon as you see the heat gauge going up. As it does, release the button and it will come down, then you can continue drilling.
Repeat this process until all the locks are broken and enter the vault. Once you're inside you need to be quick about everything. Firstly, when it comes time to do the fingerprint scanner hacking, the pattern that you will see on one door will be the same for all the doors that you hack inside. So make sure when you match the first fingerprint scanner hack patterns, take a picture on your real-life phone of the pattern, and then when you hack the next door, you can quickly refer to the picture and choose the pattern. This will really help you save a lot of time.
After you're done looting, leave the vault as soon as the timer hits the 30-40 seconds mark. It is always safer to leave the vault around this time.
Once you leave the vault you will need to use your keycards simultaneously once again to open the door and head back to the same staff lobby where you came from. This time around, the guards will re-spawn. When you reach the area, wait for a guard to pass by and as soon as he does, go through the double doors and take out the camera to your right. Once the camera is taken down, take out the guard at the desk and move forward. Then take out the guard who passed by you earlier.
Now proceed towards the exit but make sure as you are going through the set of double doors. Do not immediately cross the second set of double doors. Instead wait and check your minimap for the camera to turn its cone of vision away from your exit point. As soon as the camera turns to the left or right, depending on what side of double doors you've chosen to go out of, exit out and head to the keypad door leading to the stairway where you came from initially.
As soon as you enter the stairway, before going up, take out the camera using your stun gun and then head to the top floor, back to the staff lobby area. Avoid all the guards and leave through the staff lobby exit door where you came in from, where the metal detectors are. It is up to you whether you want to either sneak out of this area or go out fighting. We had to go out fighting from here since the body of a guard we killed earlier was discovered. But you can do it carefully and make sure that does not happen.
After you get out of the casino, head over to the casino race track and either go for your getaway vehicles and head to the sewers to lose the cops, or as soon as you get on the race track, stay on the right side of the track and when the end comes, go to the right and over the fence. This will take you to the road. Get a pedestrian car and quickly head inside the sewer tunnel and lose the cops. Come out of the other end of the tunnel and head to your buyer to compete your heist successfully.
The screenshots of running on the race track below are from the big con approach but it will be the same escape strategy here as well if you do not want to follow the getaway vehicle strategy.

One very important thing to note is that you must not go near the casino after you come out of the other end of the sewer tunnel. If you do so you will get an instant 5 star wanted level. So take a different route to the buyer if the GPS is directing you through the highway near the casino. Do not take that highway and set your own way point to the buyer.

Frequently asked questions
Do you need to buy the penthouse to carry out the diamond casino heist?
No, you do not need the penthouse to carry out the casino heist, however some points of interest require you to have a VIP membership in order to access them, such as the vault blueprint in agatha baker's office.
If you take a picture of the blueprints then you will have a prototype in your crcade basement to practice drilling on. Getting this blueprint is completely optional and it will not affect the casino heist experience.
What is the difference between the level 1 and level 2 security passes?
Level 1 is actually useless. In addition, level 2 cards allow you to enter through all the doors without the need to hack them. With level 1, you will need to hack doors to get through them. It makes your heist much easier especially if you are doing silent & sneaky approach.
Do you select the security pass mission or trigger it?
It is on the heist prep board at the bottom right corner where it says "security pass". Underneath that, you can switch to either the level 1 pass mission or level two pass mission. When you start the mission read the prompt that will pop up asking for a confirmation to start the mission for a level 2 security pass.
How can I search for the croupier?
Once you head into the party, wait for lester to send you a picture of the croupier. Check the picture in your phone's messages and then look for an identical person in the party. The croupier will likely be on the ground extremely drunk. So try to look for passed out people on the ground. As you get closer to the croupier, he/she will be identified (you will see an arrow on top of them) and you will get the option to search. After that, if the card is not on them, you need to search for it in the surronding area. Initially it will not be marked with an arrow so just look for a highlighted/glowing object. Once you get closer to it, you will identify it and just grab it.
How do you turn off night vision goggles?
You can night vision off by going to the interaction menu > style > accessories > gear. While you highlight вђ˜gearвђ™, you should be able to see the option to either disable or enable night vision.
